ERASMUS+ VASE LONDON VISIT MINUTES

9.00 – 10.15 am – Mathematical Open Morning – Parents and Delegates
·         tour of the school – Early Years Foundation Stage inside and outside learning opportunities , observe Mathematical art lessons in all Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 sessions, speak with Staff and Parents regarding learning, pedagogy, observe teaching and learning, behaviour and safety, Curriculum coverage and whole school organisation. Observation of displays and standards of work around the school.
10.15-10.30am Collective Worship – observation and delegate participation
·         Introduction to all staff and pupils in the hall. Welcome the delegates and introduce the countries. Mathematical art workshare where pupils present the work they have completed in the morning session and the Mathematics Leader questions to challenge concepts. 

10.30 – 10.45am Break

·         Timetable – clarification for 3 days
·         Housekeeping – menu to choose for Thursday
·         Hello from Donna who is poorly– Sending well wishes
·         Vase curriculum discussion of final edit
·         Blog shared – links to be added to curriculum document

England Presentation

o   Video of the Erasmus enterprise evening – linked with natural thinkers
o   Each class researched  - surveys, advertising questionnaire and then made a product
o   Product research, posters, adverts  - blogs, life tv, leaflets, posters
o   Finance per class - £30 given only and each made at least £40 profit
o   Bookmarks and decorated pencils, wrapping paper and gift bags and tags, crips, popcorn and sweets, times table cards, covered tins for pencil holders, friendship bangles with buttons, natural thinkers – plants, weaving

12.15-1.15pm Lunch

·         Lambeth briefing  - context of the school in London
·         Italy – Vase City certificate to sign
·         Spain –  website support

Italy Presentation

o   t shirts made with Vase song lyrics
o   Soaps – herbs and scents
o   T – towels with pupil art work and photography
o   Pupil designed labels and packaging
o   Necklaces – beads
o   Recycled plastic bottle – bracelets and earrings (Recycling leaflet produced to advertise the company for recycling )
o   Wooden frames
o   Denim decorated books and diaries
o   Denim matching pens
o   Video of VASE rap  - presented
·         EURO LOCO document
·         Leaflet example from pupils

Poland Presentation

o   Recycled products
o   Children designed jewellery – target audience for Mother’s Day (will repeat before Father day)
o   The profit from the sales is going towards paying for a trip for the pupils – not all can afford so this money ensures they can all attend

Romania Presentation

o   Class responsibility for each area – research, advertising, making, finance, market organisation, product placement, presentation – laying out at the market, quality control (certificate awarded) etc.
o   Salt and pepper pots
o   Tea towels
o   Painted eggs (traditional)
o   Wooden spoons – painted
o   Made 1000 Euros for charity towards child hospice
o   Project must be continued – to repeat the market in the Autumn
o   Awarded with quality certification
o   Vase City – National – presentation video

Spain Presentation

o   Tourist site
o   Created an app – child led
o   Nearly completed -  will be available to down load
o   Includes modern and ancient, archaeological sites to visit for tourists with information about each place
o   Logo designed
o   Advertisement for the radio
o   Promoted the company
o   Computing based project
o   T-shirt with advert and logo on it being produced – open door to parents
o   Market to show the children’s work

Portugal Presentation

o   All classes involved
o   Opening ceremony – pupils talk about the dynamics needed for a good team – life skills
o   Cross curricular – finance maths, ICT logos, music – theme music etc

Greece Presentation

o   Pupils first experience of working towards a profit
o   Working on staff reluctance was the first issue
o   Workshops to produce the products
o   Business – name, logo, branding, board of directors, business plan, website design
o   Sold out  - success
o   Made 1000 Euros
o   Work out the finance of the business
o   Now people are asking for the product through the site! We are sold out.
o   Team work is the future

Denmark Presentation

o   Focused on recycling as a world issue
o   They decided that trash sorting was not good enough around the world – particularly plastic ( it is mixed and burnt rather than using sites already in place and recycling)
o   Video to show use of ICT tools
§  Used Sketch up to design 3 D model or company – SMART TRASHING
§  Model made of the sorting plants in Minecraft
§  Maya programme used to design the logos
§  Life skills of using computer technology
o   Each student wrote their own CV – and applied for jobs in this company – set up the company – director, staff etc
o   Researched with local companies – what you need to start a company
o   Not allowed to make a profit for schools in Denmark
o   Advertising video  - presented
o   Documentary video to show the process
·         Completing the final forms – collaboration over final project outcomes for all countries
4.00-6.00pm - English Tea Party in the school garden

9.00am – 1.30pm – Peer to peer support for completion of mobility tool forms
Team support – pupil participation and transnational groups for agreement and completion of lead school evaluation and summary document.
Groups of delegates agreed collective answers to key questions
Delegates then presented to each other and a collective agreement was made in line with the outcomes and achievements of the project: see final mobility tool section 3 for work completed.
Presentation of London Taxi video to all delegates
Presentation of England’s – Erasmus in Greece - see you in London – video of cultural activities

·         Continue working in key groups on National Project evaluation forms
4.30pm Cultural visit around London – sightseeing bus and boat tour

·         Poems and presented with hand-made gift bags to all delegates.
·         Thanked delegates for their positive visit and for the gifts given to England staff and pupils

Minutes taker: Lucy Peake

The final meeting of the project took place in London from the 16th to 19th Of May. During this meeting the partner schools presented their Open Erasmus days they had organises, the final products of their companies and made the evaluation of the project.
The Herbert Morrison Primary School hosted the meeting and made every effort to make it an unforgettable experience.
