The second year of our Project (4-9 October 2015) started with the 3rd Transnational Meeting and 2nd student and teacher exchange in 6th Pirimary School of Pyrgos Ileias, Greece. The title of the Meeting was: "Starting up our Business Venture".
In Greece teachers and students had the opportunity to be introduced in the idea of entrepreneurship. They attended workshops where they learnt to produce balsamic vinegar, to design a bottle label and a leaflet, to finalize the product and to promote it through a TV advertisement.
Moreover they visited one of the most famous wineries of the area and the archaeological site of Olympia to be informed about the mythology, the origins and the importance of wine and its products since the greek antiquity.
It was decided that all participating countries should found their own cooperative and the students should apply all the values learnt during the first year being focused on creativity and innovation.
The teachers also attended a seminar on Photostory, a useful tool for digital storytelling, worked in multinational groups and made their own stories.
Here is the Romanian delegation description of the meeting in Pyrgos:
Erasmus + meeting in Pyrgos from Cornelia Melcu
Interim Report – Project co-ordinator questioned whether the interim report has been completed by all project participants. This should have been done by now. The person responsible for this should receive an assessment report from your countries national agency in way of reply. This assessment report will assist with the final project reporting. The co-ordinator highlighted to all present the need for the final project report to focus on what is happening and has happened in school, not on the meetings participants have attended. For example, focus on the sharing which has taken place, the collaboration which has brought the project to fruition and the innovation and innovativeness of the project within the schools.
Monday 5th October – Erasmus Greece Transnational
Afternoon Meeting / Briefing Sessions
Attending – Participants from Spain, Greece, Romania, Portugal, UK, Poland, Denmark, Italy.
Mobility Tool – Project co-ordinator brought to everyone’s attention that the mobility tool is now created and available for us. A subscription is needed to access the tool and in order to be allocated a password. Each country's co-ordinator should receive an email with instructions on how to be given access to the mobility tool.
*Discussion on ‘Transnational Meetings’ reporting.*
Use of Project Application Form – Project co-ordinator advised all participants to use their copy of the original application form as a reference. Although all national agencies are slightly different, it will be beneficial to show that items on the application form have been followed up and completed.
All expenditure of the allocated budget should be justified. All receipts should be kept in case this evidence of spend is needed in the future.
Curriculum – UK delegate was thanked for the work which was done on the curriculum. The curriculum will be formed of two halves; firstly ‘Values’ and secondly, ‘Entrepreneurs’. Lesson plans will be fed into the curriculum to be used by teachers.
It was agreed by all present that lesson plans should be submitted on the standard template. Lessons plans should be clear, concise and attention grabbing. They will be linked to media. Where a country has submitted a large number of lesson plans, the Romanian delegate will decide which ones will be utilised for the purposes of the project.
The project co-ordinator reminded all present that the project has now entered the second year which shifts the focus from values onto applying these values in the implementation of projects in our individual schools.
Tuesday 6th October – Erasmus Greece Transnational
Meeting / Briefing Sessions
Attending – Participants from Spain, Greece, Romania, Portugal, UK, Poland, Denmark, Italy.
Learning the Vase rap to take back to home schools.
Vase City Game - The Italian participants thanked all present for contributing to their Vase City game with questions and scenarios. They then presented the interactive game to the group.
Discussing various projects from participant schools.
Countries shared examples of products their pupils have made whilst applying values from the project. These included Italian necklaces which were made from recycled bottles and Portuguese handmade soap. The delegates were able to view the Greek children’s vineyard growing within the school grounds.
Spanish participants presented their school entrepreneur project where the children are managing and fulfilling various roles within the travel agency field. The children have opted for the name ‘Vase Tours’ and have produced a catalogue and logo for their business and are very enthusiastic about it.
Following this, the Polish contingency questioned whether their ‘Christmas Market’ was a viable project as this will limit their trading time to only Christmas (December).
*discussion*
The ‘Christmas Market’ idea evolved into a bigger and less limiting idea of selling throughout the year.
There was some group discussion about ‘innovation’ and the challenges of being innovative in school. Also the concept that an idea that is innovative in one school will be mainstream in another.
The Italian participant shared their idea of having a marketing conference for the school children.
The UK delegate told the group that each class within the school would be working on a project culminating in an Enterprise Evening which would be child-led.
Greece and Denmark informed all present that their original ideas of winemaking (Greece) and (Lego) have been adapted or changed. The project co-ordinator questioned this but it was felt that ideas have had to evolve with the children’s input and other restrictions/limitations. As long as this could be justified there should be no problem.
The Polish participant also felt that it was important that a percentage of any profits made by the children should be donated to charity. It was agreed that the process of running the project was more important than any potential profit making.

Lesson Plans
There was some discussion about lesson plans submission. Romania will choose 3 plans per country ensuring there is no repetition.
To Do: Some lesson plans may need to be amended including deleting any pictures – There should be No pictures in the lesson plans.
To Do: Evaluation forms to be edited for correct language by UK. Evaluations should be completed using the agreed template and completed individually as one group evaluation will not be sufficient. Try to focus on the ‘new’ and ‘innovative’ aspects of the project in order to demonstrate how interesting and dynamic it is.
*Discussion on Evaluation*
UK delegate suggested adding empty evaluation form to the curriculum document as a template.
*Work on producing an Evaluation pro-forma*
All agreed that this new pro-forma for evaluation should be attached to the curriculum.
Reminder – Spain uploads to website, Greece uploads to blog, Romania uploads to Etwinning.
To Do: Greece to share blog password and logins with UK
To Do: Project co-ordinator to email group once a month to keep everyone updated whilst reducing email traffic.
To Do: UK to add web, blog and Etwinning links to curriculum. Curriculum should also have links to lesson plans and examples of children’s work.
